Get a comprehensive medical assessment with a biokineticist

Lorene Marneweck, registered biokineticist and guest blogger on the Good Life ("The Role of Biokinetics in Living the Good Life"), tells us about a new product on offer. Lorene believes in keeping fit and healthy, and, like us all at the Good Life, encourages people to live the good life.

I would like to let you know about a product we are offering.  It is a Comprehensive Medical Assessment, which is used for your benefit to monitor your training progress.  This assessment includes:
  • ECG testing
  • Lung function
  • Glucose and cholesterol
  • Cycle fitness test
  • Body composition (BMI, body fat %)
  • Circumference measurements

We recommend doing this assessment once a year, and we have a follow up assessment at the 6-month mark to monitor your progress.  It also allows you to have as many body composition checks throughout the year, provided you have had this assessment.  Your results are given to you in the form of a report, which includes comprehensive information about your results.

The initial assessment is R750 (medical aid pays ±R660), the 6-month follow up is R500 (medical aid pays ±R470).

Alternatively, we offer the Discovery Vitality Assessment, where you can add at least 7500 points for your vitality status, and possibly earn another 7500 depending on your results.  The assessment is R175, which Discovery will pay you back for.

If you are interested in doing either assessment, please contact me for more information or to book an appointment.

Keep well and healthy everyone!
