Many people choose to works from a home-office to save on travel costs and to save time. Does staying at home mean constant grazing and less exercise motivation? Good Life Dietitians will give some advice to prevent that staying at home means a heavier you.
1.       Set working hours: then get up early and get “ready” for work as you would when driving to work

2.       Put on you sport-bra and ski-pant/tights early morning when getting dressed. This makes the effort less and the motivation more to head out the door for some energy-burning after a long day of work.

3.       Pack a lunchbox every evening as if you would go to work. This way, you will restrict your intake to what is in your lunchbox. Fill it up with healthy snacks and something more substantial for lunch.

4.       Don’t keep your food and snacks in your home-office.. You will reach for food while working, without even noticing what and how you are stuffing in your mouth! Put your lunchbox in the kitchen now you will think twice before getting up for something to eat.

5.       Schedule lunch-time on the same time every day. During this time, sit somewhere outside your office like the garden or dining room. This way you will get a proper break and will be motivated for the second half of the work day

6.       Always keep a large jug of water on hand. Make it attractive by adding lemon slices or mint leaves. This will keep is interesting and refreshing. Very often, you might confuse your thirst for hunger.

7.       Use the time that you would’ve spent stuck in traffic to clean your head after the work day. It might be difficult to stick to your exercise routine, but try alternating your workouts by doing some jogging, walking the dog, cycling, home-gym or pilates DVD’s.

Hope you are staying slim and trim while having the luxury of staying home!
